LÍNGUA INGLESA ENSINO MÉDIO

I Want To Know What Love Is - (Mick Jones)INTERPRETE: Mariah Carey
I gotta take a little time
A little time to think things over
I better read between the lines
In case I need it when I'm colder
In my life there's been heartache and pain
I don't know if I can face it again
Can't stop now, I've traveled so far
To change this lonely life
I wanna know what love is
I want you to show me
I wanna feel what love is
I know you can show me

I'm gonna take a little time
A little time to look around me
I've got nowhere left to hide
It looks like love has finally found me

In my life there's been heartache and pain
I don't know if I can face it again
I can't stop now, I've traveled so far
To change this lonely life
I wanna know what love is
I want you to show me
I wanna feel what love is
I know you can show me
I wanna know what love is
I want you to show me
And I wanna feel, I want to feel what love is
And I know, I know you can show me
Let's talk about love
I wanna know what love is, the love that you feel inside
I want you to show me, and I'm feeling so much love
I wanna feel what love is, no, you just cannot hide
I know you can show me, yeah

A JUDGMENT
Antonio Was a good young merchant of Venice. He was very kind and rich. Shylock, the Jew, was a sting man who lent money to Christian merchants at great interest. They hated each other, but one day Antonio was forced by circumstances to ask Shylock to lend him three thousand ducats to help his friend Bassanio, who was going to get married.
Shylock, pretending kindness, said he would lend the money, and take no interest. on one condition Antonio should go with him to a lawyer, and there sign in merry sport a bond, on which was written that if he did not repay the money by a certain day, he would lose a pound of flesh, to be cut off from anu part of his body that Shylock pleased. Antonio agreed because in few days his ships would come back with many the value of the money.
So Bassanio could marry Portia, the woman he loved. Unfortunately, due to a violent storm, all Antonio's ships were lost and he wasn't able to have the moeny to pay Shylock at the appropiate date.
when Bassanio told Portia the whole story about how he had got the money for his marriage, a secret that he had kept so far, she made a plan to save Antonio. Dressed as a lawyer, she went to the court as Antonio's defender. Nobody was able to realize that the unknown attorney was a woman, so disguised she was.
When the trial started, she addressed herself to Shylock saying that by the Venetian law he had the right to have what was promised in the bond. Then she tried to convince him that he could be merciful and forget the terms of the bond.
Nervously, Shylock said, "By my soul, I swear, there is no power in the tongue of man to change me. I have a bond an I´ll do everything according to this bond"
He wanted to cut off the pound of flesh near Antonio's heart and was sharpening a long knife with great eagerness.
"A pound of Antonio's flesh is yours. the law allows it, and the court gives it. According to the terms of the bond you may cut this flesh from off Antonio's breast," said Portia.
Then sharpened his long knife again, and looking eargely to Antonio, he said. "come, prepare," but Portia interrupted him by sayng, "wait a little, Jew. There is something else, this bond here gives you no drop of blood. The words are;a pound of flesh! If you dhed one drop of Christian blood, your land and goods will be by law confiscated and given to the state of Venice."
Portia argument saved Antonio's life. And all the audience admired the wonderfull wisdom of the young lawyer.

PASSIVE VOICE

4) quando o sujeito a voz ativa for um subject pronoum(I, YOU, HE, SHE, IT, WE, THEY), o agente da passiva correspondente a ele será um object pronoum(ME, YOU, HI, HER IT, US, THEM)
São exemplos;
Voz ativa – Antonio must pay his debt.
Voz passiva- His debt must be paid.
Voz ativa: Nobody recognized the woman.
Voz passive: The woman was not recognized
Voz ativa: Shylock didn’t recognized Portia.
Voz passive: Portia was not recognized bu Shylock.

VOZ PASSIVA COM VERBOS TRANSITIVO DIRETOS E INDIRETOS

Quando o verbo da oração na voz ativa for transitivo direto e indireto, haverá duas formas de transformar essa oração para a voz passiva.
VOZ ATIVA: They give this rightOD. to you.OI
VOZ PASSIVA 1: This right is given to you.
VOZ PASSIVA 2 : You are given this right
O agente da passive, neste caso, geralmente é omitido. Veja outro exemplo:
VOZ ATIVA: she asked a questionOD to him.OI
VOZ PASSIVA 1: a question was asked to him
VOZ PASSIVA 2 : He was asked a question.
The man would cut off Antonio’s flesh. – Antonio’s flesh would be cut off.
The jury is listening to Portia attentively. – Portia is being listened to attentively by the jury.
Quando o agente da voz passive em uma oração isolada não for mencionado e tivermos de passar esta oração párea a voz ativa, deveremos empregar um sujeito.
VOZ PASSIVA: those ships were destroyed.
VOZ ATIVA: they/someone/somebody/something destroyed those ships
VOZ PASSIVA: thar castle was built in 1580.
VOZ ATIVA: somebody/someone/they built that castle in 1580.
